Streets of Jyväskylä is my first game and actually just a demo full of bugs. The idea was learning by doing and it worked. Now I think, I’ll make 2 to 3 more demos and then I’ll start to work with my real game.

The actual story bases on the book, which I have not written yet. In the game you must save the Jyväskylä and find the Lost Book of Pasilaisuus. There has been an accident at University of Jyväskylä Physics labs and you’ll have to fix things.

Today I found a web page, which presented game making software. I downloaded Adventure Game Studio, but my demo ended quite soon, because I could not make graphics work with my Vista.

Then I looked more and I found Game Creation Resources. Perhaps I find software with better luck from there.

Mafia Wars at Facebook

I was surprised to notice, that Twitter has the same game too. But then I remembered news about Facebook developing Facebook lite, to compare more with Twitter. So this may be a part of the competition between Facebook and Twitter.

But about the game. Mafia Wars is easy to start and learn. You start by making crimes and earn money. Then you’ll have to buy guns etc. You may even attack other gangsters. If you wish to try, just click links above and join my Mob.

In the game player has resources and he tries to controll the spreading of the flu. Player can improve health care, send research group, close airports etc. Action available differ with the location.

For a start I did not find the idea in the game, but perhaps after longer playing, the idea will be found. Try out yourself.

At same time the main suspect, Hannu Kailajärvi, has started  hunger strike. It is obvious, that these cheaters try to start the pyramid again. And of course, as 80% always loose their money, there are few people, who always earn a lot.

In the beginning, buy economics upgrade first. You will need that money.

Try to occupy a whole continent as soon as possible. That will immediately raise your income. But you must also defend your continent to sure your earnings.

Try to destroy your opponents capitals. Loosing the capital will collapse the earnings and it costs a lot to build your another one. And of course, defend you own capital.

If you could decide, what would you improve with Pandemic, what would you do? Of course more symptoms is needed, but I would also like to give more alternatives for spreading and hiding the disease. I mean, that player would have chances to put the virus in a ship and plan a route for it.

You should also have changes to influence on incubation period.

Now I’ll have to leave coding for a while and I must concentrate on the game logic, which is not that clear at the moment – even for myself.
