+++ Kirnu
The site has really got a good start with good amount of visitors and raise with different page rankings. It still lacks of few essential community features, but Joomla 1.5 has potential. Perhaps I’ll have to invest few €uros to increase the community features of the site.
++ Cyberantweb
Cyberantweb has turned to be my best site, with payed blogging and Google adsense. With Cyberantweb, I’ve also been able to generate traffic to my other web pages.
+ PayPerPost
PPP still manages to provide few decent opportunities for bloggers. It is clear to use and all you need is to accept the opportunity and finish the task. Site is not spoiled with unneeded features.
+ Revver
Revver provides continuing cash flow, but with very very small one
+- Flickr
Flickr has quite usable platform and there has been some discussion about possible earnings. I’m waiting to see, what will happen.
+- NowPublic
NowPublic has potential, but at the moment it does not provide any earnings for it’s members. Work hard and they get the money.
-+ Youtube
Well, nothing that bad, but actually nothing good either. Nice to watch sometimes, but I have not find a reason to be an active member to entertain myself.
- Weblo
Weblo is filling the site with all kinds of features. The result is low usability and messy looking layout. And when you combine this to low earning possibilities, the result is a disappointment. Still Weblo has potential, but I think that first thing to do for Weblo staff is to read my book about groupware features and how to use them to support interaction, information and knowledge work. Just take a look at my site Lapland. Weblo please, cut down the amount of ads and nonsense features. Make a decision, what do you want from your site, and then concentrate on it.
- - SocialSpark
SocialSpark is IZEA’s new social site for bloggers and advertisers. SocialSpark’s usability is on Weblo’s level and like Weblo it is in danger to be another Facebook/MySpace virtual hell. And with small amount of low income opportunities, there is not that much reason to log in the site. Why everything has to be so difficult?
- - - Newsvine
The community has gone crazy and NV dropped the user earnings about more than 50%. (Nice work MSNBC)
- - - Metacafe
Over a year from my first video at Metacafe, and I have been able to do anything. $0 earnings with thousands of total views. Not suitable for me.
Future plans?
? ? ? I have considered about producing services for social media sites. I know, I can be quite productive columnist, or I could build linkings form sites to Kirnu or my other web sites and blogs. A partnership with some income, sounds quite attractive.
? ? Providing consulting services for social media sites with groupware features and virtual community. Looks like most of the sites are run by professional journalists, engineers, marketing specialists, but groupware and computers supported cooperative work is not that familiar subject for management staff.
? I have also thought about selling advertisement directly on my web sites, so I would not need Google or PPP with they low income anymore.
