Open source - FreeOrion

June 14th, 2008 · No Comments

I tested FreeOrion, which is an open source version of Master of Orion. I tested the game with my Vista PC.

Installation went without problems and the game worked, but not correctly. For example all the research was done in one turn. There were also challenges with interface and ship building etc.

FreeOrion 0.3.9 has been released. This release adds a variety of minor new features, new art, fixes various bugs and includes significant ship design screen progress. The WinXP installer and a mostly-statically-linked Linux binary are available from SourceForge. See this post for more details.

I don’t know, what’s the problem, but I’ll wait for new versions to see if I can make them work.
