SocialSpark started Beta in 16. April 2008 and I was one of the Alpha testers of the site. First I was quite interested in the site, because I knew, that some social features were added to the site. I used it, got my blog approved, made friends etc. But something was not correct. The site felt like a huge mess up of different features and functions, and the most important feature – blogging opportunities, was hard to figure out.

The idea about social site was good, but the execution was not a success. I think that IZEA stuff should really read my book about groupware features to figure out, how to analyze and choose needed groupware features for virtual community.

Now after two months, I’m still at PPP. It’s clear and easy use. If there is an opportunity, I can pick it up, write and get it approved. That’s the main reason for me. So instead of adding every feature at your site, keep things simple.

I just read, that Newsvine has payed the lowest revenue for it’s members for a long time. Personally I have noticed, that there are not that much blogging opportunities as it used to be some time ago. Google Adsense revenue is not that big either.

USA and the rest of the World is heading to recession and the signals should be seen at online business too. Luckily this is a hobby for me at the moment, and if my web earnings fall, I’ll be fine.

But if online business is heading a recession too, we should see bankruptcies  with web shops too.

There is a certain point with Youtube, when you get frustrated to search and click for another song for every three minutes. Especially at work I like to listen music from computer with headset, because then it does not bother my work mates. And while working, I don’t wish to cut my working all the time to pick up another music video.

XFM is an alternative rock and indie radio station. It has has been going since 1997 serving alternative rock/indie to London, UK. Now XFM has expanded onto the web with new features: music news, podcasts, gig tickets and of course the online radio itself. From the web site, you can check the headline music news, playlist, schedule, featured artists and interviews, while listening to the online radio.

From the “music news” sub pages, you will find headline news, festivals, tours and competitions. Especially festivals is a handy feature for planning summer holiday.

This far the problem for me has been to find an online radio with decent music and now listening few hours XFM, seems like the problem has been fixed.
