This morning I noticed, that Google has updated the page ranks. I was very happy, when I noticed, that my less than two months old blog has received PageRank of three.

Google PageRank is created is a certain kind of link analysis which is meant to evaluate the importance of the site at World Wide Web - the bigger the ranking number (0-10), the more important the web site is.

The best way to increase your PageRank is to have other high ranked sites to link to yours. But if you try to increase your Google PageRank too aggressively, you may find, that your PageRank falls. This is because Google seems to be concerned about “link manipulation” which may reduce the quality of Google search results.

With PageRank feature, you can also check the backward links, which tells you, where are the links coming for your blog or column.
